Style of Mine

The adventures and struggles of a petite, geeky journalist-in-training living in New Zealand.

Warning signs

In nature, the colours of my outfit would be used to warn off potential predators.

Today was completely dreary. The weather was miserable and grey and the light was awful for picture taking, although I a grateful that the winter rains have finally come, albeit a month late. Otherwise, the power companies would be declaring a drought, and since the few power companies in this country have a monopoly and we rely on hydropower, a drought would mean sky high electricity prices and warnings about power cuts. During winter. How can one survive winter without electrical heating? Open fires are out of the question as our city has pretty much banned open fires due to air pollution. Everyone relies on heatpumps nowadays.

Wearing a vintage boy’s woollen blazer (my little brother’s from when he was nine or ten), vintage woollen turtleneck, black skinny jeans, brown buckle boots and a vintage bag.

I skipped a tutorial today to go shopping. The cardigan I wanted got sold out. Not cool. The jacket I have been coveting is still there, and just as expensive as it was a month ago. I bought a lipstick; the first time I’ve bought a lipstick, actually. Nude, more or less matte. I have a lot of those brightly coloured sparkly ones that steal too much attention.
