The adventures and struggles of a petite, geeky journalist-in-training living in New Zealand.
Wearing ASOS cape and shoes, H&M sweater dress and hat from Hong Kong.
After the earthquake, the entire city’s pretty much been rearranged, and I went with my class to visit the temporary premises of the local daily newspaper, where I’ll be interning at starting from Easter. I’m really impressed, as are a lot of people, by how the team over there managed to put out a paper every day following the quake, even though the ceiling of the old newsroom collapsed on them during the quake. It’s this sort of innovation and dedication that really makes a journalist, I think.
On a lighter note, I found out that I really can’t park and I hate cutting two lanes when turning right because it scare the hell out of me, so I’m crossing my fingers that when class resumes next Monday, it’ll be on or near campus, where there are plenty of bus-stops. Otherwise, I’m gonna have to drive during rush hour and I really don’t think I can manage it.
